Sea Port Logo History 30th Anniversary

At Sea Port, we've been in pursuit of the perfect wave for the last 30 years –

And we've been largely successful in catching the biggest ones at just the right time. Why did we choose a wave as our company logo? Waves are the forward movement of water – in the ocean. Waves signify energy, and only those who truly understand their force can really harness that power and go for a ride.

Our philosophy has evolved over time and has helped shape our graphic identity through the years.

When we opened our doors in 1981, our company was known as "Sea Port International Trading Company," and our logo, a lighthouse, was intended to serve as a beacon, helping buyers find just the right products to meet the needs of an ever- changing market. For the past three decades, Sea Port has developed a reputation for catching and riding the next big wave, which makes it fitting that the company logo changed from a lighthouse to a wave in the mid 90's.

Like a Surfer:

 Sea Port has demonstrated an almost uncanny ability to forecast changes in the global seafood market and source accordingly. We see this ability to read the signs of the market and to make purchasing and sourcing decisions for the future as being akin to a surfer's experienced "feel" for the ocean. And we constantly see the imagery of the wave as representing who we are as a company – constant yet dynamic, not static!
